Day 1: Meet in Chennai (Madras)
Day 2: Mahabalipuram Realx after that long flight in the surrounding beauty. Sunset visit Shore Temples (Dravidian style of architecture) and Five Rathas.
Day 3-4: Kanchipuram - Madurai Visit Kanchipuram, one of the ancient seven sacred cities of India. Also famed for its handwoven silk, we visit a weaver's home. Tour Meenakshi Temple and attend evening puja in Madurai.
Day 5: Chettinad Experience heritage, art and architecture untouched by time in the homeland of the Nattukottai Chettiars.
Day 6: Thekkady (Periyar Sanctuary) The greatest attraction of Periyar remains the large herds of wild elephants that come down to the lake's edge. Enjoy a boat cruise to view wildlife and visit a spice plantation in this lovely hill station.
Day 7: Backwaters of Kerala Board a private, deluxe Kettuvallom (traditional riceboat) for an overnight tour of the backwaters. A series of canals thread their way through the state to the sea, allowing you a glimpse into local life in Kerala that would be impossible to get from road transport.

Day 8-9: Cochin Tour the bustling old world port city of Cochin where the influence of colonial Portugal, Holland and England can still be seen. Highlights include Dutch Palace, St Francis Church, Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets and a classical Kathakali dance performance.
Day 10: Thrissur Arattupuzha Festival Attend the Pooram, a special religious celebration with a history that is two centuries old.
Day 11: Calicut Visit the traditional capital of Northern Kerala.
Day 12-13: Nagarhole (Rajiv Gandhi Nat'l Park) Afternoon safari in the jungles.
Day 14: Coorg Astoundingly beautiful Coorg set amidst verdant valleys, imposing mountains and teak wood forests.
Day 15-16: Mysore Marvel at the beautiful Indo-Saracenic royal palace, Sri Chamundeswari Temple on Chamudi Hill and the famous Nandi Bull. Excursions to Somnathapur and Srirangapatnam.
Day 17: Bangalore-Home Drive to Bangalore for flight to intl departure.
