We begin in the ancient Slavic country Belarus, located in the geographic heart of Europe. We'll have a fairly in-depth exploration of the important historic and cultural cities including the marvelous capital Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk (where Chagall was born and lived), Polotsk and Brest.
A short drive from Brest across the Ukraine border and into Lyiv. Located in south-eastern Europe, Ukraine is the second largest of the continent after Russia, but one of the least-known. Here we enjoy the delights of Lyiv, Kyiv, Crimea and Yalta, and Odessa.
We arrive in Chişinău, capital of Moldova after a short pleasant drive from Odessa. Moldova is a very small country, north of the Balkans, surrounded by Romania to the southwest, across the Prut River, and Ukraine to the northeast.
A delightful exploration of Chişinău and its historic, architectural and cultural sites. There will be day excursions to the surrounding villages where we can enjoy the beauty of the countryside, meet the people and taste their fabulous wines!
Moldova is fairly new to tourism, so you will be among the first to catch a glimpse of traditional lifetsyle at the crossroads with modernity.
